Born out of a deep desire to elevate the quality and efficiency of digital campaign executions across Africa, we began operating in 2013 and over the years we’ve evolved along with the ever changing digital landscape.

Tendai Luwo

The path to success is anything but a straight line and no one knows that better than Tendai Luwo. The digital business strategist extraordinaire started his journey as a student of law at the prestigious Rhodes University. But a chance encounter with a call to audition for the campus radio station led to a two-year stint as one of the station’s most accomplished primetime hosts. It is that serendipitous moment that set him on a journey towards becoming a quiet force to recon within Africa’s digital and broadcast landscape.

Tendai Luwo went on abandon his LLB degree pursuit and instead honed his skills as a journalist for famed South African music publication, BPM magazine. There, as the feature writer responsible for documenting the then rise of South Africa’s house music scene, he penned some cover features for Black Coffee, DJ Zinhle, DJ Shimza and other renowned artists who went on to become global sensations.

It is through this work that Tendai landed his first corporate job as a young social media manager at Viacom Africa. He contributed to the online strategic direction of brands like MTV Base, MTV Africa, BET and Nickelodeon. After a successful tenure at the broadcaster, he found his feet as a digital strategist working on award winning productions like Idols South Africa, The Voice Nigeria, Big Brother South Africa as well as Mnet’s group of channels like Mzansi Magic, Channel O, Zambezi Magic and Africa Magic.

However, it wasn’t long before the entrepreneurial bug bit and Tendai decided to launch his agency. Named Bad Press Creative Agency at the time, the agency started off in 2015 with the launch of popular Bollywood entertainment channel, Zee World where the agency oversaw the digital execution of the channel across the African continent. Overtime the agency conceptualised and executed campaigns for brands such as Cricket South Africa, Solly Krok, Gagasi FM, DS Damat and other international brands.

Today, close to a decade since his career began, Tendai has rebranded his agency to David & Langton, a specialist strategy agency that focuses on blue sky solutions for Africa’s biggest brands and personalities.

Tendai is a fervent digital evangelist and when he is not etching out winning strategies, he spends his time offering mentorship to other young business owners.
